    Local periodontal therapy specialist, Dr. Rui (Ray) Ma, will teach attendees how to implement a successful non-surgical disease control hygiene program. Attendees will also understand the diagnostics of periodontal and peri-implant programs as well as up-to-date techniques in removing the etiology of periodontal disease.

    Infection Prevention Specialist and National speaker and educator, Jessica WIlson, will spend an evening with us addressing the three critical factors for increasing practice profitability. She'll discuss how to create an efficient process for sterilization, instrument processing, inventory management, and team communication. We'll also discuss hot topics in new infection control principles and best practices in the dental setting.

    Spear Resident Faculty, Dr. Jeff Rouse, will present a personal journey of airway-induced problems found in three of his patients. All three were missed by the "normal" medical and dental practices and procedures. No one bothered to ask, "Could this be Airway?" Dr. Rouse will also present the challenges to changing the mindset of your team members including those in the medical community.

    Dr. Gregory A. Toback DMD MS

    Gregory Toback, DMD, MS received his Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University (cum laude) in 1991, and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Connecticut in 1995 (Award for Excellence in Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry). Following completion of his dental degree, Dr. Toback pursued advanced training in periodontics and dental implants at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. In 1998, Dr. Toback returned to Connecticut to begin private practice with Shoreline Periodontics. Dr. Toback is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He is also a clinical professor at UCONN School of Dental Medicine and has authored papers in major periodontal and dental implant journals. He lectures extensively on a variety of clinical topics including dental implants, bone and soft tissue regeneration, laser periodontal therapy and implant complications.


    Dr. Marianne M. Urbanski DMD MScD

    Dr. Urbanski graduated cum laude from the College of Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology. She received a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and a Masters of Dental Science degree from the University of Connecticut Dental School. Dr. Urbanski has served as a clinical periodontology instructor at the University of Connecticut’s School of Dentistry and the Yale General Practice Residency Program. She has received numerous awards in Dental Student Research Society Award, Commencement Awards from the Department of Oral Biology, the American Academy of Oral Pathology, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She is also the author of “Mind and Medicine: In Harmony for Healing”.
